WHO I AM

Founder of 4sustainability®
Co-founder of Ympact and YHub

I like to think that what I do contributes to a real and lasting transformation of the fashion system.

Sustainability is still often discussed in vague terms, when in fact—by listening to science and leveraging the methodologies and technologies we are fortunate to have today—we can take meaningful action to significantly reduce the social and environmental impact of production. Both as consumers and as businesses operating within the fashion system.

I was born in Florence, where I’ve had the privilege of living all my life. Florence is my city, but the world is my dimension: over the past 15 years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet professionals with whom I’ve grown and shared a commitment to building a better world.

It all started with 4sustainability®, a system designed to improve ESG performance across fashion and luxury supply chains.

I’ve been collaborating for years with institutional working groups such as ZDHC and Monitor for Circular Fashion SDA Bocconi, as well as with numerous universities and fashion schools.

I’m also Co-Founder of YHub, the first Italian group offering innovative solutions to trace supply chain processes and measure the impact of fashion production, now operating under the name Ympact | Tracing fashion to a responsible future.

I authored Fashionisti Consapevoli. Vademecum della moda sostenibile (D. Flaccovio Editore, 2022) and frequently give lectures in Italy and abroad.

In 2023, I gave a TEDx talk titled How to reset fashion: a new sustainable era.

Since 2025, I’ve been contributing to Il Fatto Quotidiano with a column on “Fashion and Style.”

FASHIONISTI CONSAPEVOLI

Handbook of Sustainable Fashion

Foreword by Matteo Marzotto

Until about a decade ago, sustainability was a niche topic. Today, it’s a value that has made front-page news and captured the awareness of an increasingly broad segment of the population. But what does sustainable fashion really mean? How can we distinguish brands and initiatives that deserve our trust without falling into the trap of greenwashing?

Tracing Fashion to a Responsible Future

Ympact brings together expertise, methodology, and technology to support the fashion industry in its transition toward more transparent and lower-impact production models.

By connecting brands with their supply chains, Ympact enables the tracking of key product and process data, monitoring supply chain compliance, measuring and reducing impacts, and optimizing business operations.
All in alignment with market demands and evolving regulatory frameworks.

PRESS & TV

From sustainability to responsible innovation: below is a selection of articles and interviews highlighting my contribution to a more sustainable fashion industry, as featured in the media.

After Brunello Cucinelli, Matteo Marzotto and Federico Marchetti, the Italian designer has also joined the group of shareholders in the sustainable fashion tech company through his own firm. The Fondazione del Tessile Italiano is also among the new partners.

One of 4sustainability’s key strengths is its ability to transform sustainability from a cost — as it was and, to some extent, still is perceived — into a strategic growth driver capable of creating value.

Among them are prominent names such as Foro delle Arti (the holding company of Brunello Cucinelli SpA), entrepreneur Matteo Marzotto, Claudio Rovere, venture funds managed by the global investment bank LionTree, and Federico Marchetti.

Starting in 2027, the European Union will require garments and accessories to disclose their environmental impact and the origin of each stage of production. Will this truly help us buy less, but buy better?

Following investigations into factories linked to luxury brands, Italian authorities have prompted the fashion industry to adopt a new voluntary agreement. Experts are now evaluating whether this initiative will prove effective.

Amid new EU regulations and the urgent need to reduce environmental and social impacts, the fashion industry is embracing the challenge of sustainability. To navigate this transition effectively, several key players are choosing Ympact — the digital platform for monitoring, training, and supporting the shift toward a more sustainable production.

FASHION & STYLE

Column for Il Fatto Quotidiano

In my column for Il Fatto Quotidiano, I address topics related to sustainability with a critical and constructive perspective, aiming to highlight the challenges, solutions, and outlooks of a possible transformation.

LIVE WITH 4SUSTAINABILITY

Live with 4sustainability®, recorded between 2021 and 2022, is a series of conversations and interviews focused on sustainability as practiced by some of its most authentic and passionate advocates.

I engage entrepreneurs, academics, and communicators in a series of informal interviews designed to inspire and spark reflection.
There is nothing more powerful than real-life examples to help us make conscious choices.
And sustainability must be exactly that: a conscious choice, carried forward over time with consistency and a commitment to truth.

TEDx FORTE DEI MARMI

In this talk, I present a number of solutions, tools, and shared choices that make sustainable fashion a goal within our reach. With an approach that combines technical expertise and a passion for the environment, I invite reflection on how each of our choices can contribute to positive change. Together, we can dress the future more responsibly.
